For November's Pole Exercise of the Month, I'm pulling an exercise from Lina Zacha & Barbro Lagergren's Creative Riding With Obstacles. Exercise #9 - Corner Square.
Place four poles so that they screen off a corner of the arena. The pole ends should reach all the way out to the wall.

Canter in a large circle over the outside poles or in a smaller circle over the inside poles. Practice riding a predetermined number of strides by keeping the same length of stride throughout the circle and place the horse over the poles so that he easily takes two, three or four strides between the poles in the corner. How many you can fit in depends on the size and collection of the horse.
